Project Features:

  • Exterior Main Entrance - 60 large Choreoswitches arranged in an arc shoot water 32 feet (10 meters) high in a myriad of stunning sequences. The water outflow of the Choreoswitch is also used to create clever horizontal patterns of surging water that can be viewed from the hotel rooms above. Alternate amber & red lighting bathe the hotel front at night in a soft colored glow.
  • Theatre or Cafe Feature - 9 Leapers with graduated heights of arching streams provide playful sequencing through the day. At night they become laminar streams with traveling balls of light. In addition Natural Gas bubbling up through the water is ignited to create a magical fire effect.
  • Snake Feature - 80 deck mounted Choreoswitches ending as a spiral at the anchor department store and culminating in a bursting column of cold steam. The Choreoswitches go through a variety of low (approx 24 inches high) undulating effects like tall grass blowing in a breeze.

About the Project:

Antara Polanco opened its doors in 2006 to become the place where culture, shopping and entertainment become one. Antara is an imaginary world that comes to life in an architectural space filled with light and harmony, where irreplaceable experiences take place. Three water features decorate this unique shopping centre. The exterior feature in front of the hotel is a crescent shaped overflowing pool almost as long as a football field. The Cafe fountain consists of a horseshoe shaped overflowing pool with a sunken wood deck center portion, while the Snake feature playfully winds its way through a line of nine palm trees.
